St John Vianney (Cure of Ars)
Oil on wood panel 12" x 9" x 1.5" Saint John Vianney is the patron of confessors, priests, and the archdiocese of Kansas City, Kansas. He is remembered for performing great penance for his parishioners and having the gifts of miracle-working, prophecy, hidden knowledge, and discernment of spirits. Saint John Vianney was tormented by evil spirits throughout his life, especially when he attempted to get in his two to three hours of sleep a night. Feast day Aug 4

Oil on wood panel 9" x 12" Original. Italian saint and one of the first followers of Saint Francis of Assisi. She founded the Order of Poor Ladies, a monastic religious order for women in the Franciscan tradition, and wrote their Rule of Life, the first set of monastic guidelines known to have been written by a woman. Following her death, the order she founded was renamed in her honor as the Order of Saint Clare, commonly referred to today as the Poor Clares.

Mary and the Chist Child
Oil on wood panel 24x36". I originally painted this for a Christmas card. This piece has a ding in the wood panel on the blue mantle of Mary.
Oil on wood panel 11" x 14" x 1.5". The face of Jesus follows ancient traditions. The eyes are large and open, looking directly into the soul of the viewer. The forehead, identified as the seat of wisdom, is high and convex. The nose is long and slender, contributing a look of nobility. The mouth is small and closed in the silence of contemplation. The hair is curled and flowing, recalling the endless flow of time. The neck and body are powerful reminders of His strength and majesty.

Oil on wood panel 11" x 14" x 1.5". Original art, using my aunt Doris as the model. St Bridget was a mystic and saint, and founder of the Bridgettines nuns and monks after the death of her husband of twenty years.

Oil on wood panel 18x24x1" Original Spanish Jesuit priest and missionary who, due to his life and work, became the patron saint of slaves, the Republic of Colombia, and ministry to African Americans. During the 40 years of his ministry in Colombia it is estimated he personally baptized around 300,000 people. He is also patron saint for seafarers. He is considered a heroic example of what should be the Christian praxis of love and of the exercise of human rights.
